Bike Day!

Kia Ora Bloggers!

In week 3, my school had bike day! I didn’t have a bike so I used the one that the worker Joshus brought. First off we had to go to room 7 and do a few activities. The activities we did were we had to find the problems on this poster. The problems that were on the poster were like people crossing the road even though it was a red light, and people riding their bikes on the road. The next activity we did was we got to play word search on paper. After we did the word search we had to grab a sticker and put it on a column. The columns had options of what we take to school and what we wanted to take to school. The options were car, bike, scooter, walk and bus. I chose car for both of them because I live pretty far away. After we did the activities, we headed outside to the bikes.

When we went outside, we had to choose our helmets. Then we had to choose a buddy. First I chose my friend Layla, then I changed buddies to my other friend Loiloi. Joshua was telling us how to check out helmets and bikes. After we got our helmets and bikes ready we started our first activity. My friend Loiloi went first because I’m not confident riding bikes without raining wheels yet, so I wanted to watch her first. When it was my turn the activity we did was we couldn’t take our feet off the pedals. I obviously wasn’t confident so I was like the second or third person out. Then the bell rang for lunchtime.

Are you confident riding a bike with no training wheels?

Tabloid Day!

Talofa Lava Bloggers!

In week 3, some year 5&6 students got picked to go to Tabloid day! I was one of the students that got picked. We had Tabloid day just next door at Keith Hay Park. First we had amazing shirts we had to wear on Tabloid day. Then we walked to Keith Hay Park and all the activities were set up. We put our bags under this light pole and waited for some other schools to come.

Our first activity we did was some Soccer. First we got split up into groups by a boy named Joe. I didn’t get the chance to kick the ball. But it was very fun and I did enjoy it.  The next activity I remember was field games. The field games were Octopus, A hulahoop game (I forgot the name), and another game where we had to try and rip out a tag of there shorts. My favourite game was the Hulahoop game. So basically, theres a few hulahoops set on the floor and theres 2 teams. The first person on each team had to hop in each hulahoop and when they get to eachother they have to do rock, paper, scissors shoot and the person who won has to keep hoping to the other person and the person who lost has to go to the back of the line and start again. The other game I remember was Capture the flag, in my school we call it Jailbreak. There were lots of fast people so I kind of struggled to tag them. Lasty was my favourite game of all. It was a obstical course. It was so fun. First we had to run and crawl under a blue net, then we had to under or over this inflatable thing (I dont know what its called again) then we had to run to the slide and wait in line. When it was my turn I felt very nervous because I thought I might go through the obstical course wrong, but I ended up doing alright. After we went down the slide we had to go in and out of these poles and we had to practise our stepping. Then we had to go over a hay bale and walk in and out of these tyres.

My favourite part of the obstical course was going on the slide. We got medals at the end! And of course we went back to school.
